4th Section Championship winners 1992.

This is a picture of the band taken in front of Victoria Park Bandstand after winning the  National Area Contest in 1992.Far left is our sponsor  Mr Ron Brooks,far right is Mr Paul Stevenson,who has just recently become our band president.The musical director at the time was Mr Peter Moon who now lives in Spain.Out of the band members shown in the photo there are just three  who are still with the band today.They are back row centre,Nick Duncan  ( Cornet  ),   middle row far right next to Paul stevenson  Dave Diment ,(Tenor Horn),also Pete George,who is not pictured. This is an example of how bands change over the years,i think every band is in the same boat.The band at the moment still play in the fourth section.

Band Person of the year Trophy.
This Trophy is given to the person who Dave Jones  ( MD) chooses himself,who he thinks has worked hard in the year for various things.The player/person keeps the trophy for 12months until it is time for Dave to decide again for the year.

Each winner puts their name on the Trophy.Here is a list  in reverse order of past and present winners over the years.The earliest date on the shield is 1988,where i presume the idea of a shield was first suggested.

Soloist of the year Trophy
(The Albert Lunn Memorial Shield.)

This shield is awarded to the soloist  or soloists who  Dave thinks has performed the best solo over the year.Again it is is held by the player for 12months and then is returned after 12months for Dave to make his decision.The names on the shield are listed below in reverse order.
